Iron Sharpens Iron
“As iron sharpens iron, so one person sharpens another.”
—
Sharpening requires friction. Two pieces of iron rubbing against each other, removing rough edges, honing the blade. Comfortable relationships rarely sharpen. It is in the grinding, the honest conversation, the faithful wound of a friend that we become sharper. This is why isolation dulls and community sharpens. We need people who love us enough to tell us truth, who rub against our rough edges. Are you surrounded by people who keep you dull or make you sharp?
Who in my life is sharpening me? Am I sharpening others?

Speak This Truth
“I welcome relationships that sharpen, even when it requires friction.”
