At Peace Without Full Resolution

Romans 12:18

If it is possible, so far as it depends on you, live peaceably with all.

NRSV

Not every relationship resolves neatly. Some conversations never happen. Some misunderstandings remain. Some distances persist despite your best effort. Scripture acknowledges this reality without shame. Peace is pursued as far as it depends on you, not as far as you can control. Finishing the year clean relationally does not mean everything is repaired. It means you are no longer striving internally to fix what you cannot carry alone. You have shown up honestly. You have acted with integrity. You have released what was beyond your reach. Jesus lived with unresolved relationships. Not everyone followed Him. Not everyone agreed. Some walked away confused or offended. He did not chase resolution at the cost of truth. He trusted the Father with what remained incomplete. December invites you to adopt this same clarity. You are not responsible for managing outcomes in other people's hearts. Peace does not require agreement. It requires alignment. When you have done what was yours to do, you are free to rest. Relational peace here is not indifference. It is release. It allows you to carry compassion without carrying guilt. It lets love remain without resentment. It honors connection without forcing closeness. Today invites you to notice where you are still holding relational tension internally. Ask whether it truly depends on you anymore. If not, gently let it go. God is capable of working in places you cannot reach. Peace grows when responsibility ends where obedience has already been fulfilled.

Ponder This

Which relationship am I ready to release into God's care without forcing resolution?

Today's Practice

Offer one unresolved relationship to God today and choose peace without further striving.

Speak This Truth

I live at peace without forcing outcomes. God holds what I cannot resolve.
