Do Not Worry
“Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.”
—
Jesus does not promise trouble-free days. He acknowledges: each day has enough trouble of its own. The command is not optimism but focus. Worry about tomorrow steals strength from today. It borrows trouble we may never face and pays interest on problems not yet due. Tomorrow will come with its own challenges and its own grace. Today offers its own portion of both. Can you trust the God of today to also be the God of tomorrow?
What future worry is stealing my peace and presence today?
When tomorrow thoughts arise, practice returning: "Today has what I need. Tomorrow has what I will need."
Speak This Truth
“I will not mortgage today for tomorrow worries. God is faithful in both.”
